Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the Day of Unity between the Peoples of Russia and Belarus.
“This year we will mark 20 years of the Treaty Establishing the Union State of Russia and Belarus. Over that period, our countries have made great progress in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and integration. We are implementing major projects in trade, the economy, culture, science, technology and other spheres, as well as deepening interregional ties.
The coordination of our efforts in foreign policy and defence is strengthening the international standing of Russia and Belarus and the security of our citizens,” the message from the President of Russia reads.
Vladimir Putin expressed his appreciation of the high standards of allied relations, which allows the sides to hold in-depth discussions on the most complicated issues on the bilateral agenda and to find solutions in the best interests of the two fraternal nations.
