Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj arrived in Russia on a working meeting to participate in events honouring the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA VLADIMIR PUTIN: Mr President, friends, good evening. I am very happy to see you in Moscow. Thank you for accepting our invitation. This is natural, because Mongolia truly supported the Soviet Union in the most active possible way during all of World War II in the fight against Nazism.

In addition, everyone knows that we have very good, friendly, heartfelt relations with profound, long-standing roots. Naturally, we will take advantage of your visit to discuss the entire range of Russian-Mongolian relations.

We have a meeting scheduled in the expanded format. There, our colleagues will be able to cover specific cooperation projects, particular industries and directions in our presence.

We are very happy to see you. Welcome!

I am very happy that despite your busy schedule, even though we are on the eve of the celebratory events and holiday, you have found time to meet with us and discuss our bilateral cooperation.

I gives me great pleasure to wish you a very happy 70^th anniversary of the Great Victory on behalf of the Mongolian Government and all the Mongolian people. This Great Victory was our shared victory.

Last year, you personally attended the 75^th anniversary celebrations of the victory at the Khalkhin Gol River. I am delighted that this year, I am attending these celebrations of the 70^th anniversary of Victory on your invitation. We are very pleased that representatives of the Mongolian Armed Forces will participate in the Victory Parade.

I am also happy for this opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation.

I would like to congratulate you on your success. We are very happy to see the industrial and economic development of our great neighbour, the Russian Federation, in this difficult time.

I am pleased to note that Russia continues to hold a rightfully high position in the international arena. As a neighbour and as a friend, I would like to once again congratulate you on your success.

Vladimir Putin: Thank you. We will also have a trilateral meeting this summer between Mongolia, Russia and China on your initiative. We can take advantage of the events today and tomorrow and discuss the agenda for that trilateral meeting with our Chinese colleagues.
