The company was set up in 2008 as a successor to INTER RAO UES ZAO merged with a number of Russian-based gencos transferred under its control as part of the reform of Russia’s power industry.
The mission of INTER RAO UES is to organise cross-border deliveries of electric power, provide it to domestic and foreign consumers, make effective investment, manage foreign assets, and engage in retail electricity sales.
