The President signed Federal Law On Introducing Amendments to Article 20 of the Federal Law On Free Legal Assistance in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law stipulates that the right to receive free legal assistance within the state system of free legal aid is granted to persons applying for recognition as internally displaced persons or refugees, as well as to those who have been recognised as internally displaced persons or refugees, or who have been granted temporary asylum in the Russian Federation.
Such assistance is provided where they seek free legal aid on matters related to the provision of social support measures, recognition of their status as internally displaced persons or refugees, the granting of temporary asylum in the Russian Federation, and admission to citizenship of the Russian Federation.
