In order to grant additional social guarantees to citizens, for which a gradual increase of the retirement age is envisaged, the President submitted to the State Duma amendments to the draft Federal Law No.489161–7 On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation on Granting and Paying Pensions. The State Duma passed the bill in the first reading on July 19, 2018.
In accordance with Article 84 (d) of the Constitution, the President has also submitted to the State Duma draft federal laws on providing the above mentioned social guarantees to citizens.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin appointed Tatyana Golikova the President’s official representative as the Parliament considers these draft laws.
