Greetings to participants in the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of the CIS Security and Intelligence Agencies

May 26, 2026

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants in the 58th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States underway in the Irkutsk Region.

The message reads, in part:

“You have met to hold a substantive discussion on a broad range of professional issues, including a more effective struggle against terrorism and extremism, transnational organised crime, cybercrime and other fundamental security threats.

The global military-political situation has visibly deteriorated, with a serious crisis in the Middle East and new hotbeds of instability, including near our borders.

In this context, it is essential to use all available analytical, personnel, operational and technical capabilities of your structures to reliably protect the Commonwealth from potential internal and external threats, regularly exchange information and coordinate common approaches to addressing our common tasks.

I am confident that the results of your meeting will contribute to ensuring the safe and stable development of our nations.”
