Vladimir Putin congratulated the faculty, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and alumni of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory on its 160th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Outstanding musicians, patrons of the arts and public figures were instrumental in establishing your university. Thanks to their energy and enthusiasm, and a profound understanding of their important mission, traditions of devoted and selfless service to the arts were established and have been carefully passed down from generation to generation.
Today, the Moscow Conservatory is rightly regarded as one of the world’s renowned centres of culture, education and enlightenment, a welcoming home to brilliant talents who have brought glory to our Fatherland, as well as to countless admirers of classical music.
I am confident that, while maintaining a connection with the past and preserving the ideas and legacy of your predecessors, as well as the spirit of creativity and constructive work, your faculty and staff will continue to work with inspiration and open the way for young talents.”
