The President signed Federal Law On Ratifying the Agreement Between the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia on the Pension System for Customs Officers and Their Family Members.
The agreement was signed in Tskhinval on November 7, 2025.
It concerns the pension arrangements for customs officers of both parties, as well as for their family members.
Under the agreement, an employee’s pension is to be determined by the competent authorities of the party in whose territory the employee was discharged with the right to a pension, in line with that party’s legislation. The calculation and payment of the employee’s pension are to be handled by the competent authorities of the party in whose territory the employee permanently resides, also in accordance with that party’s legislation.
The agreement further stipulates that the granting and payment of survivor’s pensions to family members of a deceased employee are to be carried out by the competent authorities of the party in whose territory the family members permanently reside, in accordance with that party’s legislation.
