Newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy has been introduced to the heads of Central Federal District regions

June 6, 2012, Moscow

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov introduced newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy Alexander Beglov to the governors of the regions in the Central Federal District.

Mr Ivanov stressed the need to develop the Central Federal District in all areas, from agriculture to high-tech sectors. It is important that people living in the region feel happy with their lives and receive decent wages not only in Moscow and the Moscow Region, but in other regions too, Mr Ivanov said.

Mr Beglov said that being the President’s envoy to the region is a responsible task and a high honour. The Central Federal District has the conditions needed to make progress, he said, and the authorities at every level, as well as public and religious organisations will cooperate and be involved in its development. Mr Beglov said that he would pay particular attention to ensuring the implementation of the presidential executive orders and to the chief federal inspectors’ work.

Alexander Beglov was appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District by the Presidential Executive Order of May 23, 2012. He will also continue his work as chairman of the Presidential Council for Cossack Affairs.
