Meeting with Acting Governor of Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin

The President had a working meeting with Acting Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin.

The Acting Governor told the President about his impressions of the WorldSkills competition, in which young people from the Astrakhan Region participated, and updated him on the creation of an advanced training and retraining centre within the framework of the Education national project. He also asked Vladimir Putin to support the creation of an industrial competences centre the conditions for which are available in the region.

Social development, industrial modernisation and the creation of a shipbuilding roadmap for the region, in particular, the revival of the Krasnye Barrikady shipyard, were also discussed.

Igor Babushkin, who was appointed acting governor in June 2019, also spoke to the President about the final stage of the gubernatorial election campaign in the region, the debates held with candidates, meetings with the people, the problems raised by the region’s residents and ways of settling them.
