Vladimir Putin congratulated President of People's Republic of China Xi Jinping on Beijing’s selection to host the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In his congratulatory telegram, Mr Putin noted the exceedingly high level in the organisation of the Summer Olympics in 2008, expressing confidence that the 2022 Winter Games will be equally successful and become an unforgettable celebration for athletes and sports fans throughout the world, while promoting China’s continued development.
The President of Russia also expressed readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to China in preparing for the upcoming Olympics.
