Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to the team and veterans of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Centre on the occasion of its centenary.
The message reads, in part:
“You can rightly take pride in the remarkable traditions of your predecessors and the large, important contribution that your centre made to the development of the national space and defence industries. Owing to the selfless labour of many generations of researchers, designers, engineers and workers, to their professionalism and commitment to the cause, your centre has always risen to the occasion and achieved its goals – from the development of one of the first domestic cars, Russo-Balt, to the production of the new Angara carrier rocket.
Importantly, your centre is also working to enhance national security. It plays an active role in implementing government policy on the innovative development of the space industry and in designing advanced rocket technology.”
