“The closing of another cinema season is always a big and significant event. This awards ceremony is a special one; it sums up the results of the year 2016, which had been declared the Year of Russian Cinema, and to become a laureate is both an honour and a responsibility. Present here are renowned legends as well as young representatives of the film industry. What unites you all is talent, passion for your profession, and the aspiration to create quality, thoughtful and interesting works that will admirably carry on the legendary traditions of our national cinema.

I am certain that the XV Golden Eagle National Film Awards ceremony will take place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and will be a real celebration for all those present.

I congratulate the laureates on their well-deserved success and wish you new achievements and the best of luck.”
