Greetings to 39th Moscow International Film Festival

Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival.

The President's message reads, in part:

“This is our country’s oldest film festival and is deservedly considered a big and important event in the cultural life of Russia and other countries. It has always lived up to the expectations of the most demanding cinema experts and is known for its rich programme and star-studded line-up of participants. It remains true to our historic traditions while at the same time never failing to surprise us with new projects, ideas and initiatives”.

The Moscow International Film Festival opens today, to screen 247 films, with 13 films taking part in the main competition. Russia is represented by three films. The awards ceremony will take place on June 29.
