Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the XV International Forum Gas of Russia 2017, which is underway in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“Your annual forum, which is held to consolidate the professional community and to discuss the current tasks facing the national gas sector, has won respect in the business community and has proved its relevance.
Russia is by rights considered a leading global energy power and a major producer and supplier of natural gas. The sustainable development of our gas industry largely determines the rate of economic growth, helps achieve the main social goals and is an element of a high quality of life.
Considering the instability and growing competition on global energy markets, we need to strengthen the research, technological and export potential of our gas sector, develop new and promising deposits and implement large-scale infrastructure projects. We must also strengthen cooperation with our foreign partners.”
