President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met Vladimir Putin at the airport.

The leaders will hold talks on the further development of Russian-Egyptian relations in politics, trade, economics and culture.

They will also exchange views on key aspects of the international agenda, primarily on ensuring stability and security in the Middle East and North Africa.

Earlier in the day, the President of Russia visited the Khmeimim airbase in the Syrian Arab Republic and thanked the Russian service personnel who took part in the counterterrorism operation and who made the operation a success.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief ordered the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Syria back to their permanent bases.
