Vladimir Putin congratulated Arkhangelsk Region residents on the region’s 80th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“The history of your home region was written by bold and talented people who developed the Russian North, built cities and towns and lay the foundation of the region’s powerful industrial potential. Today’s anniversary is a wonderful reason to recall your outstanding compatriots who made our country famous with their labour achievements, scientific discoveries and military feats in the name of our Fatherland.
Throughout the ages and especially today, Arkhangelsk Region’s advantageous geographical position, unique natural resources and world-famous historical and cultural landmarks remain its key advantages. It is important that all of the country’s riches work for the good of the people and improve their quality of life. For this purpose, it is vitally important to improve the investment climate, proactively implement large-scale innovative economic and social-sector projects, improve the transport infrastructure and increase housing construction rates.”
