Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to participants in the meeting devoted to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the system of state administration of Russia’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries.
The message reads, in part:
“I would like to congratulate you on the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the system of state administration of Russia’s military-technical cooperation with foreign countries.
This system has proven its effectiveness and become one of the key instruments of Russia’s foreign policy, of ensuring national security and a major factor in the development of science-intensive branches of the domestic economy.
Owing to the selfless labour, talent and motivation of your predecessors – scientists, designers, engineers, managers and specialists – our country has created a strong defense industry and developed unique high-tech arms and combat hardware.
Today Russia is by right a leader in the global arms market. Our companies are successfully building up a portfolio of orders and expanding the geography of deliveries.
I would like to emphasise that effective sales of military products greatly influence federal budget revenue, the modernisation of the defense industry and the stable development of enterprises and entire cities, affecting the wellbeing of tens of thousands of people.”
