Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants and guests of 11th Open Russian Junior Martial Arts Games, which are traditionally held in the resort town of Anapa on the Black Sea coast.
The message reads, in part:
“In the past years the Games have become a landmark event, contributing to the development of children’s and junior sport in our country and the promotion of healthy and active lifestyle values. The young participants in the tournament share not only their mastery of martial arts, but also stamina, respect for their rivals, ability to take a punch, to bravely embrace challenges and fight to the end. And the key is their sincere commitment to be worthy of our outstanding champions, to perform with dignity at the most responsible competitions.
I am confident that the Games will be held at a high organisational level, will be remembered by thrilling bouts and inspiring victories, and will serve to popularise martial arts.”
