Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants in the event to mark Geologist’s Day and employees and veterans of Russia’s geological sector.
The message reads, in part:
“Your demanding but honourable and responsible work rightfully commands great respect in society. Thanks to their professionalism, dedication, perseverance and understanding of the exceptional role of their work, many generations of your predecessors made a unique contribution to establishing Russia’s mineral and raw material base, strengthening the domestic industrial and energy potential and promoting the development of vast territories.
It is encouraging that today you continue that pioneering work with dignity by successfully addressing the problems facing this industry. After all, it is you and your professional experience, competence and widespread introduction of modern resource-efficient environmental technologies that largely determine the effective development of the mining and geological complex, economic indicators’ growth, and, therefore, the people’s quality of life and well-being.”
