Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests of the 41st Moscow International Film Festival, which runs from April 18 to 25.
The message reads, in part:
“The festival’s history is inextricably linked with the history of world and national cinema, ambitious projects from famous masters, and the creative success of young directors and actors. Today, the MIFF has not lost its relevance, credibility and public respect.
It unites people from different countries and generations, people of great talent, open to innovation and dedicated to the high principles of cinematographic art, and serves the tireless search for new ideas while strengthening human contacts and cultural cooperation between states.
It is also important, of course, that the MIFF contributes to the creation of high-quality Russian films, the revival of interest in our cinema, and in many ways, it sets the direction for its development.
I am confident that the festival will continue to expand horizons while maintaining its unique traditions, and participation in it will testify to high professional recognition and success with the audience.”
