Vladimir Putin congratulated the workers and veterans of the road industry on their professional holiday – Road Workers’ Day.
The message reads, in part:
“Highly qualified experts who are very experienced in their jobs and understand the importance of their work have always been employed in the road industry, because the sustainable development of the regions and the national economy in general, as well as the effective implementation of infrastructure projects and the seamless functioning of the united transport system in Russia to a great extent depends on the progress in this industry. As well as the quality of life of people, of course.
“I am satisfied to note that, during the recent years, important and comprehensive work has been done to upgrade road and engineering facilities. New roads, bridges, bypasses, and railways to sea ports are opening. The accessibility and safety of transportation is improving. It is important not to stop at the achieved results or lose momentum, but to focus on the reliability of the road facilities.”
