Vladimir Putin sent greetings to athletes, coaches, the staff and veteran members of the Russian Paralympic Committee on its 30th anniversary.
The message reads, in part:
“Over all these years, the Russian Paralympic Committee has been pursuing an important and socially-oriented mission; its noble goals unite thousands of people with disabilities, involve them in adaptive physical fitness programmes and help them to completely unlock their talents, display a strong character and indomitable spirit. Largely owing to this skilful and consistent work, Russian athletes score outstanding achievements at world and European championships and Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. And, of course, it is gratifying to know that our Paralympic athletes now once again compete at major international competitions with their national symbols, flag and anthem. I consider this to be our major common victory.”
