Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants in the meeting of the Committee of the CSTO Security Council Secretaries, currently underway in Moscow.
The message reads, in part:
“Your meeting is taking place during Russia’s year as chair of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, under the theme Collective Security in a Multipolar World: A Common Goal, Shared Responsibility. The agenda covers a broad range of professional issues, from countering internal and external threats to our countries to protecting the rights and freedoms of our citizens.
The current geopolitical situation remains unstable. It is therefore important to maintain a unified approach, closely coordinate our steps when addressing the strategic objectives facing the CSTO, and expand its analytical capacity to allow for thorough and comprehensive assessments of the situation. Considering anticipated challenges and risks, we need to act promptly to develop and update the decisions of the CSTO Collective Security Council and its other statutory bodies. This applies above all to military matters, information and biological security, counter-terrorism, efforts to counter extremism, drug trafficking, and illegal migration. We will, of course, continue to improve the crisis response system and manage the components of the CSTO’s collective forces, deepen industrial cooperation, and develop scientific and technical collaboration.
I am confident that your meeting will strengthen our partnership and help us achieve our goals.”
