Vladimir Putin sent greetings to choreographer Boris Eifman, Artistic Director of the St Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre, on his 80th birthday.
The message reads, in part:
“Please accept my warmest congratulations on your 80th birthday.
Your extensive professional journey is a bright example of selfless commitment to one’s chosen field. You are well known in Russia and far beyond as an outstanding choreographer and a remarkable representative of the national ballet school. Your boundless creative energy, daring ideas and concepts helped you create a theatre permeated with the spirit of freedom and innovation, where talented performers, directors and artists do their inspired work.”
Boris Eifman, a Soviet and Russian choreographer, is Artistic Director of the St Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre and of the Boris Eifman Dance Academy, Merited Worker of Art of the RSFSR, People’s Artist of Russia, winner of the State Prize of Russia and the Benois de la Danse, Golden Mask, Golden Soffit and other awards.
