Dmitry Chudakov, DSc in Biology, head of the Laboratory of Genomics of Adaptive Immunity at the M.Shemyakin-Yu.Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences. Dmitry Chudakov was born on September 13, 1978 in Moscow.

Dmitry Chudakov is one of the world’s leading specialists in the development and practical use of fluorescent proteins and toolkits based on them. In less than ten years Dmitry Chudakov completed a number of fundamental and applied research projects, the results of which were published in over 60 articles (citation index – 2300, Hirsch index – 23).

Mr Chudakov’s research has great practical significance. Its results are widely used in biomedical research on animals, preclinical drug trials, high-resolution microscopy, basic research in cell biology, neuroscience, immunology and oncology.

Dmitry Chudakov designed the protein marker Katushka (TurboFP635), which is the best existing marker for the visualisation of objects inside living tissues. It is widely used around the world to study tumour growth, as well as for the development of anticancer drugs.

The author has Russian and international patents on the results of his research.
