Sergei Miroshnichenko, born on June 24, 1955 in Chelyabinsk, is the winner of the Vasilyev Brothers RSFSR State Prize (1989) and recipient of numerous professional awards and prizes, founder and head of the Ostrov film studio, professor, head of the documentary film studio at the Russian State University of Cinematography.
Sergei Miroshnichenko is one of the greatest documentary filmmakers of our time. His films seek answers to complex questions born of the problems in our society.

Tahir Salakhov, born on November 29, 1928 in Baku, Azerbaijan, is Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, professor at the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. Hero of Socialist Labour, he is the recipient of state awards of the USSR, Russia, Azerbaijan and other countries, laureate of the USSR State Prize (1968) and winner of several international awards.
He is one of the greatest contemporary artists and a teacher who trained a number of masters of modern art.
In his work, Mr Salakhov consistently develops his individual style. He is part of the Russian and world art history. His contribution to the Russian artistic culture is significant and obvious, and he is considered a classic of Russian art.

Karen Shakhnazarov, born on July 8, 1952 in Krasnodar, is winner of the Vasilyev Brothers RSFSR State Prize (1988) and the Russian Federation National Award in Literature and Arts (2002).
Mr Shahnazarov is a renowned Russian film director, screenwriter and producer, whose work is greatly admired in Russia and around the world.
Since 1998 he has headed the Mosfilm Studios, one of the largest film production companies in Russia and Europe. Under his leadership, the studio, which was founded in 1923, has undergone a large-scale modernisation, following which Mosfilm is capable of realising creative projects of any level of complexity.
