Alexei Shatikhin, Vitaly Danilenko and Georgy Vasilyev – winners of the 2014 Russian Federation President’s Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists

The prize was awarded for the creation of the automatic control and mission preparation systems for Iskander-M tactical missile system.

Alexei Shatikhin, born on April 26, 1982, in Moscow, heads the R&D division at the Central Research Institute of Automatics and Hydraulics (TSNIIAG).

Vitaly Danilenko, born on March 12, 1979 in Moscow, is head of the division at the Central Research Institute of Automatics and Hydraulics (TSNIIAG).

Georgy Vasilyev, born on April 2, 1979 in Kolomna, Moscow Region, heads the design section of the Machine Building Design Bureau (KBM).

The automatic control and mission preparation systems for Iskander-M developed by the team has become a breakthrough solution for the Russian Armed Forces missile systems.

The new control system makes it possible to reduce Iskander-M pre-launch preparation time and enhance its durability. The significant enhancement of the missile system performance made it possible to radically improve the use of long-range high-precision armaments.
