Since December 2006, Mr Mironov has been the artistic director of the Theatre of Nations. Under his leadership, it has become one of the centres of theatrical life in Russia. His work is developing in several areas: Russian small town theatre festival, the Shakespeare festival, a programme for young directors, and international theatre projects.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Mr Mironov is actively engaged in public activity and charity work. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art. The Action to Support Russian Theatre Initiatives prize is awarded annually on the actor’s initiative. Mr Mironov is the founder of the Artist and National Theatrical Initiatives not-for-profit funds and participates in other philanthropic projects.
