Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Reorganisation of Rostelecom Long-Distance and International Electrical Telecommunications Open Joint Stock Company
The reorganisation is a Russian Federation government initiative aimed at improving telecommunications technology and developing the country’s telecommunications sector as the national interest requires.
The reorganisation will see Rostelecom merge with Telecommunications Investment Company (Investitsionnaya Kompaniya Svyazi) Open Joint Stock Company under terms by which the state together with state-owned corporation Vnesheconombank will retain control of more than 50% of ordinary shares.
