Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 61 and 66 of the Federal Law On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Rights of the Citizens of the Russian Federation to Participate in a Referendum.
In order to prevent fraud during voting in elections and referendums, the Federal Law establishes that stationary ballot boxes as well as portable ballot boxes for use outside polling stations will be made out of transparent or semi-transparent materials in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Central Election Commission.
