The President signed Federal Law On Ratifying the Paid Educational Leave Convention (Convention No. 140).
Convention No. 140 was adopted at the 59th session of the General Conference of the International Labour Organization in Geneva on June 24, 1974.
The Convention sets out requirements for International Labour Organisation member states that have ratified the Convention to create conditions for providing educational leave to workers so that they may pursue education and training at all levels, as well as trade union education.
The Convention’s requirements largely correspond to the norms of the Labour Code of the Russian Federation, which stipulates procedures for granting guarantees and compensation to workers combining work and study.
