Vladimir Putin signed an order on support in 2016 for non-profit, non-governmental organisations engaged in developing civil society institutions, and implementing projects of social importance and projects concerning human rights and civil liberties.
The order concerns allocating subsidies of a total value of more than 4.5 billion rubles envisaged in the 2016 federal budget for nine non-profit, non-governmental organisations engaged in developing civil society institutions. These subsidies will be used to organise project tenders to select other non-profit, non-governmental organisations that will receive grants to carry out socially important projects and human rights and civil liberties projects.
