Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On Presidential Elections in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law brings the provisions of the Federal Law On Presidential Elections in the Russian Federation in line with the provisions of the Federal Law On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Right of the Citizens of the Russian Federation to Participate in Referendums. It also updates provisions concerning organisation of polling stations, forming election commissions, putting forward and registering candidates, carrying out election campaigns, financing elections, and sets requirements for polling station premises, in particular, the possibility for using video surveillance and image transmission equipment at polling stations.
