The President has signed the Federal Law On Amending the Code of Inland Water Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Law On Sea Ports in the Russian Federation and on Amending Specific Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.
Pursuant to the amendments, citizenship of the Russian Federation is obligatory for individuals who occupy the post of captain of inland waterways, captains of seaports, officers serving a seaport captain, individuals carrying out state port control and employees of radiolocation systems for managing traffic of vessels and other services tasked with controlling and managing shipping traffic.
