The President signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Tenth Additional Protocol to the Constitution of the Universal Postal Union, adopted by the Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union.
The Tenth Additional Protocol to the Constitution of the Universal Postal Union was adopted by the Extraordinary Congress of the Universal Postal Union and signed in Addis Ababa on September 7, 2018.
The Tenth Additional Protocol emphasises that the Universal Postal Union is an intergovernmental organisation.
The protocol provides that regional unions may send observers to congresses and meetings of the Council of Administration and the Postal Operations Council, as well as other conferences and meetings organised by the Universal Postal Union. It also clarifies that members of the Postal Operations Council carry out their functions in the name and in the interests of the Universal Postal Union.
