The President signed Federal Law On Amendments to Article 3301 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law aims to prevent violations of the Russian legislation in that persons who receive foreign financing and participate in the political process in Russia are obligated to conduct their affairs openly and transparently
For these purposes the law amends Article 3301 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to stipulate several individual offences.
In particular, it shall be a criminal offence to violate the procedure regulating the operation of a foreign media outlet acting as a foreign agent or of a Russian legal entity that such an outlet may establish in the same legal capacity.
