The President signed the Federal Law On the Accession of the Russian Federation to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications.
The Federal Law allows for the Russian Federation’s accession to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications, signed in Geneva on May 20, 2015.
The accession of the Russian Federation to the Geneva Act will increase the protection of regional brands, create new opportunities for the regions’ economic development and support of local manufacturers, and ensure further integration of the Russian Federation in the global systems of intellectual property protection.
