Dmitry Medvedev signed an Executive Order introducing changes to the list of strategically important companies, which had been approved by Presidential Executive Order No 1009 of August 4, 2004.
A number of federal unitary enterprises and joint stock companies have been excluded from the list, in particular, organisations where the Government share of the authorised capital was lower than a controlling stake, with the exception of OAO Transinzhstroi, OAO Gazprom, Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia and Channel One. In the above companies the Government is in fact a majority shareholder due to the share capital structure.
In addition, companies undergoing bankruptcy proceedings and lacking a feasible recovery programme, as well as a number of federal state companies in the defence industry complex that do not have significant state orders, have been also excluded from the list.
