The President signed Federal Law On Ratifying the Agreement Between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Cases.
The Agreement, which was prepared while taking into account modern contractual practices, Russian legislative stipulations and international standards, was signed in Abu Dhabi on November 25, 2014 with the aim of developing the international legal foundation for Russia-UAE cooperation on providing mutual legal assistance in criminal cases.
In accordance with the Agreement, the Parties take on the obligation, mutually and in observance of the conditions indicated therein, to provide legal assistance to one another in investigations, legal proceedings and other procedural actions related to criminal cases. The Agreement specifies the volume of legal assistance and establishes requirements with regard to the form and content of the request for legal assistance, as well as procedures for its provision.
