Russian-Austrian talks took place in Vienna within the framework of Vladimir Putin’s official visit to Austria.
After the official greeting ceremony, Mr Putin had a conversation with President of the Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer. Then the negotiations continued in an expanded format over a working dinner.
The presidents of the two countries attended the signing of an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Austria on mutual assistance following natural or industrial disasters and cooperation in preventing them.
After the talks, Vladimir Putin and Heinz Fischer made statements for the press and answered journalists’ questions.
Later President Putin also had a meeting with Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann.
