Vladimir Putin congratulated Tony Abbot on taking office as Australia’s Prime Minister.
The message reads, in part:
“Relations between our countries traditionally show positive development. I am sure that our common efforts will enable us to expand our bilateral cooperation in different areas, and our work together as partners in the UN, the G20 and the various other multilateral groups in the Asia-Pacific region. This is fully in the interest of both countries’ friendly peoples and will help to strengthen international security and stability.”
