Vladimir Putin visited the Olympic Village and met with members of the Russian national team taking part in the First European Games.
The President wished the athletes success and good luck.
Members of the Russian national team, in turn, presented the President with a memorial medal of the First European Games and the team’s uniform.
360 athletes from 49 regions of the Russian Federation have been selected to take part in the European Games. The team includes seven Olympic champions and 34 world champions of various years. Russian athletes will compete in 30 events.
