The President of Russia honoured the memory of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and visited the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
President Medvedev laid a wreath at the grave of Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honorary Burial and flowers at the grave of Zarifa Aliyeva, the spouse of Heydar Aliyev and mother of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Russian leader also visited the Alley of Martyrs in Nagorny Park in Baku and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame memorial devoted to the memory of those who gave their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence.
