Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on Independence Day, which this year coincides with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi occupation.
The message reads, in part:
“Relations between our countries have been developing dynamically on the basis of centuries-old traditions of friendship, alliance and mutual assistance. Strong Russian-Belarusian ties lie at the basis of integration in the CIS, which is now rising to a qualitatively new level after the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. I am certain that through joint efforts we will provide for the successful implementation of this vitally important project.”
The President of Russia also wished prosperity and happiness to the fraternal people of Belarus.
