During the telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on his birthday.

The conversation also touched upon certain matters concerning bilateral cooperation and upcoming multi-format contacts.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to Alexander Lukashenko, which reads, in part:

“We deeply appreciate your efforts to strengthen allied relations between our countries and to advance mutually beneficial integration processes in the Eurasian region.

I am confident that your rich experience as a state leader will continue to facilitate unity and accord in Belarusian society and to strengthen stability and security in the country. Belarusian friends can always count on Russia’s support.

I have no doubt that we will continue to further expand all-round Russian-Belarusian ties in various fields through our joint efforts.”
