Vladimir Putin laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Minsk as part of his official visit to the Republic of Belarus.
Built by architects Georgy Zeborsky and Vladimir Korol, the Victory Monument has been standing on Victory Square in Minsk since 1954 as a symbol of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and honouring the memory of Soviet Army personnel, partisans and resistance fighters who died during the war.
