Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Protocol to Amend the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation on Avoiding Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital, signed in Moscow on November 15, 1995.
The Protocol was signed on September 24, 2011.
In particular, the amendments concern the exchange of information between the two states’ tax authorities and taxation of certain types of dividends. In addition, the Agreement is supplemented with provisions to prevent it from being used to illegally reduce taxes.
