Dmitry Medvedev sent a message to President of Chile Sebastian Pinera following the successful rescue of miners trapped in the San Jose mine.
The message reads:
“Please accept my hearty congratulations on the long-awaited completion of the unique rescue operation in the San Jose mine.
It became evidence that even the most severe ordeals can be successfully overcome with the will and valour of people united by a single goal. I have the greatest admiration for the fortitude of the miners, who spent over two months trapped underground, and the rescuers’ courage and professionalism.
Please convey my sincere congratulations and warmest wishes to the miners and their families, and all those who took part in operation Phoenix.”
