Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests at the opening ceremony of the China-Russia Youth Friendly Exchanges Year.
The message reads, in part:
“I sincerely congratulate you on the opening of the China-Russia Youth Friendly Exchanges Year, which will continue a series of large-scale bilateral humanitarian projects that have been successfully implemented recently: the National Years, Years of Tourism, and Years of Russian and Chinese Language. Their implementation has significantly broadened ties in education, science, culture, tourism, sports and healthcare, and has helped strengthen relations of overall partnership and strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.
It is important that the China-Russia Youth Friendly Exchanges Year’s extensive programme is aimed at ensuring that contacts between youth and student community become even more active and substantive, so that young generations from both nations better understand one another and absorb the good traditions of Russian-Chinese friendship.
I am confident that the Years’ scheduled events will be highly successful, interesting, and memorable as bright events in Russia and China’s cultural and social life.”
